This marine reserve encompasses the islands of the archipelago and provides many opportunities for swimming and nature-focused walks.
The Blue Grotto and the Volcanic Grotto of Cala Grande are two of Portovenere’s most renowned natural sights. Both are located on Palmaria Island.

The Blue Grotto lies within a crag on the island, and can only be reached by boat. We recommend touring it at sunset, to enjoy the unforgettable light effects enhanced by the sunlight. The Volcanic Cave of Cala Grande owes its name to the way it is shaped, reminiscent of a lava flow, and there is a freshwater spring inside.[/vc_column_text][vc_custom_heading text=”The viewpoints” font_container=”tag:h3|text_align:center” use_theme_fonts=”yes” el_id=”punti-panoramici-portovenere”][vc_column_text]The scenery is definitely one of Portovenere’s most exceptional features.
